Used to detect mycobacteria (AFB hot staining)
The Tb-color modified staining kit is used for the microscopic analysis of mycobacteria (AFB) by hot staining. The Tb-color modified staining kit is based on the classical Ziehl-Neelsen method. Once stained, the acid fast mycobacteria keep their colouring even after treatment with strong decolorizing solutions as HCl-ethanol. They remain stained red after counterstaining, whereas the microorganisms susceptible to acid take on the color of the counterstain. The staining kit is an IVD and CE registered product and consists of 500 ml carbol-fuchsin solution and 500 ml of the counterstain methylene blue solution, as well as two 500 ml bottles of decolorization solution, hydrochloric acid in ethanol. The kit is registered as IVD and CE article and is sufficient for staining up to 250 slides.
